About Me

My background is in science and prior to training as a physiotherapist I worked as a research scientist  I decided that I wanted to pursue a career in healthcare that still used the skills and training I had aquired as a scientist.  For me physiotherapy was the logical choice.

I qualified as a physiotherapist in 2011 and have been working in the NHS since then.  My interests lie in the area of musculoskeletal physiotherapy and I have considerable experience in outpatients, womens health and rheumatology.  I am interested in movement control and how abnormal movement patterns contribute to pain and injury.  This interest led to me training in the APPI Pilates method. APPI pilates is a modified form of pilates designed for use in the rehabilitation setting.  I completed my training and qualified as a pilates instructor in 2016.

I complete a training course every year with APPI to maintain my instructor certification and ensure that my classes are varied and up to date.
